About the role:
Read Write Discover is searching for a highly-motivated volunteer Outreach Associate to help us find new tutors for next summer. If you love meeting new people and building connections, keep reading!
As Outreach Associate, you will maintain effective communication with RWD community members and partners to ensure a steady flow of tutors and subs throughout the program. You will work closely with Read Write Discover’s Senior Operations Lead to build strong outreach strategies and projects.
How you'll make an impact:
Maintain and ensure accuracy of contact databases for RWD community members and partners, which includes previous and current coordinators, tutors, guardians, and schools
Develop professional relationships by initiating and following up with contacts through e-communication templates and strategies
Prepare promotional materials for contacts, such as e-flyers, for recruitment purposes when necessary
Conduct email outreach to recruit coordinators, tutors, and as well as learners if needed
Provide a steady flow of tutors and subs throughout the program, setting them up with the training process
Manage all outreach inquiries in an efficient and professional manner on cadence with RWD’s Senior Operations Lead to ensure effective fulfillment with related departments
Participate in leadership meetings when necessary to assess and deliver outreach projects
What we're looking for:
Experience communicating with a variety of people (adults, youth, children, etc)
Strong interpersonal skills, while remaining goal- and data-driven
Able to assess inquiries, adapt to any situation and troubleshoot issues that may arise
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Able to commit to at least a full year (August 20xx to August 20xx) of volunteerism for Read Write Discover, workload being heavier at the beginning of the calendar year

Read Write Discover is a volunteer and student-led tutoring program whose mission is to create equitable literacy opportunities for K-8th grade learners by empowering young leaders to make a change in their communities.
