About the role:

Read Write Discover is searching for a highly-motivated volunteer Program Administrator to organize our program data and information, lead the administrative processes for our volunteers, and work closely with our Team Leads to keep in the loop of everything RWD-related. You will work closely with Read Write Discover’s Leadership Team to build a strong program foundation and innovate the way our program operates.

How you'll make an impact:

  • Work closely with the Read Write Discover Leadership Team and Internal Programs Team to ensure the RWD summer program runs smoothly

  • Track team progress by creating spreadsheets, trackers, and reviewing documents

  • Draft, review, and send timely communication emails to ensure teams are kept on track to finish goals and deliverables

  • Plan and implement our substitute tutor policy

  • Work closely with our Operations Team to audit internal resources, trainings, and developments

  • Participate in 1:1 meetings with your manager, as well as all Leadership Team meetings

  • Provide any logistical support to the program, as needed (e.g., cross-program collaboration, joining task forces/committees, etc.)

What we're looking for:

  • High-level digital organization skills

  • General understanding of RWD’s internal processes and program timeline

  • Experience collaborating and working with a large team

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Experience communicating with people of all ages

  • Strong interpersonal skills, while remaining goal- and data-driven

  • Able to adapt to any situation and troubleshoot any issues that may arise

  • Able to commit to at least ten months (November 2022 to August 2023) of volunteerism for Read Write Discover

  • Previous Program Coordinator at Read Write Discover

  • Non-profit or educational volunteer experience

  • Tutoring, mentorship, or leadership experience of youth / high school students

  • Experience communicating with people from historically marginalized communities (first generation college students, ESL speakers, immigrants, etc)
