About the role:
Read Write Discover is searching for a highly-motivated volunteer Program Manager to lead our programs to success! If you are energized by mentoring the next generation of Program Coordinators, keep reading!
You will work closely with Read Write Discover’s leadership team to build a strong program foundation and innovate the way our program operates. You are the supporter, motivator, advice-giver, and logistical expert our Program Coordinators will look to for leadership.
How you'll make an impact:
Recruit, manage, and mentor Program Coordinators to lead successful programs at their specific program location(s)
Participate in leadership meetings and cascade information to ensure your programs are running smoothly and efficiently
Provide and develop resources to share with Program Coordinators as they navigate building their program
Develop metrics and use them to make data-driven decisions to reach RWD long-term goals
Lead check-in meetings to guarantee goals and milestones are being achieved for Program Coordinators, as well as the program site
Motivate and engage Program Coordinators by sharing advice and positive reinforcement
Provide any logistical support to the program, as needed
What we're looking for:
5+ months of experience building a program
Experience overseeing a group of 25+ people and motivating them to reach their goals
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Experience communicating with a variety of people (adults, youth, children, etc)
Strong interpersonal skills, while remaining goal- and data-driven
Able to adapt to any situation and troubleshoot any issues that may arise
Able to commit to at least a full year (August 20xx to August 20xx) of volunteerism for Read Write Discover
Previous Program Coordinator at Read Write Discover
Non-profit or educational volunteer experience
Tutoring or mentorship experience of youth / high school students
Read Write Discover is a volunteer and student-led tutoring program whose mission is to create equitable literacy opportunities for K-8th grade learners by empowering young leaders to make a change in their communities.
